Impodimo Game Lodge

Impodimo Game Lodge is set along a rocky ridge commanding stunning vistas of the reserve. It is also located at the source of a natural spring, which provides the lodge with elevated views as well as riverine serenity. The lodge offers dawn and dusk safaris. The safaris are carefully timed to ensure optimal seasonal comfort. Whilst Impodimo has 10 suites, its capacity is 16 guests, each of the suites have been carefully positioned to ensure absolute privacy. Spacious in design, each includes a closed system fireplace, climate control air conditioner, mini bar fridge, tea & coffee making facilities and full en-suite bathroom and outside shower. Your private deck allows uninterrupted views of the Madikwe Game Reserve.

The Experience

The owner / manager team of Steve and Debbie are ideally suited to tailoring the most memorable safari experience, Whilst Steve is a highly qualified expert ranger, Debbie adds impressive culinary qualifications to the team. The team has gone to great lengths to ensure that guests have as much choice as possible in enjoying their experience, for example, 7-seater landrovers are used instead of the traditional 10 seater type. Impodimo is the first lodge in Madikwe Game Reserve to have qualified Shangaan trackers as part of the team. This adds a different dimension to the safari experience ensuring consistent big game sightings. With fewer guests on landrovers the team encourages guests to maximise optimal game viewing times, for example this may include a full day safari in winter with a picnic lunch stop.

Children

Sharing all the wonders that an African game reserve has with children is one of the pleasures that the Impodimo team treasures. The safety of children on safari is of paramount importance to our staff and for this reason we reserve the right to limit children's participation on safaris designed to bring you, the parent, close to big game. For this reason we have created the concept of the 'bush bumble' where we encourage parents to join their children on a game drive designed to focus on the little things.

Rates & Reservations 2011/12

• Single supplement 50% of the per person sharing rate.
• Children 50% of the per person sharing rate when sharing with two adults.
• Children Sharing with adults in Deluxe Safari Suite will be charged 50% of the Standard Suite sharing rate.
• Rate inclusions
  • Standard Suites: Accommodation, all meals, teas & snacks and 2 daily safari activities.
  • Family Suite: As above and full use of the unit & sole use of safari vehicle.
  • Deluxe Safari Suite: As with family safari & private chef, with all meals catered for in the unit.
• Rate exclusions Park entrance fees, all drinks and purchases of a personal nature.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

A non-refundable 20% deposit is required to confirm any reservation. Full payment of the balance is due 30 days prior to guests arrival, unless the booking is made within 30 days, in which case full payment will be required to confirm the reservation..

The following cancellation terms and conditions will apply to reservations which are cancelled in part or in full as follows

• 45 and 30 days prior to arrival 30% of the total amount will be due.
• 29 and 15 days prior to arrival 50% of the total amount will be due.
• 14 and 0 days prior to arrival 100% of the total amount will be due.

Children

• Children under the age of 12 are permitted on safari at the sole discretion of the manager or guide.
• Children under the age of 6 are not permitted on safari, and where possible, a kiddies safari will be arranged between normal safari times.
• The lodge reserves the right to impose similar restrictions for family unit guests if it is believed that safety may be compromised.
• Baby sitting facilities can be arranged at the lodge at an additional charge.

Madikwe Game Reserve falls within what is referred to as a cross over or transition zone and this is where bushveld meets the edge of the Kalahari. For this reason the diversity of wildlife is greater than most other areas as animals endemic to both regions overlap at this point.

Map & Directions

Situated in the Madikwe Game Reserve, access to the lodge is either by road or by daily departure - air charter departing from Grand Central Airport. The reserve is approximately 3,5 hours drive from Johannesburg, guests would route via Zeerust before proceeding north. The lodge is accessed via Wonderboom Gate.

Scheduled flights from ORT to Impodimo are available and can be arranged by Impodimo.
